Day One

I'm calling this post Day One, but its really not Day One, its more like Day 72 since I moved to Lagos, Nigeria, but Jeff Bezos allegedly starts each day with the phrase, "today is Day One."  Meaning never get complacent, treat each day like its your first.  I think its a genius concept and mindset.

Anyway, this truly is Day One for this blog.  Who knows if this is the only day that will happen.  I do not know what to expect with this.  I figure it will probably just be an outlet for my thoughts about living in Nigeria for the next 8 or 9 months.  I kind of hope it will be a place for me to do some writing about things here that frustrate me without annoying any of my friends, family, or co workers.  I figure nobody will ever read or see this but I need a better outlet other than sending friends and family nasty emails or making annoying phone calls.  I do not imagine anyone will ever read this or care about my thoughts.

Readers can expect posts about living here, workouts, things I miss about back home, rants about sports, movies, books, and popular culture, and some general nonsense fueled by Jameson Irish Whiskey and Smirnoff Vodka.

I hope not to post or publish anything specific about my job or work colleagues.  We will see how that goes.  I intend to do my best to give examples of my work life without getting into specifics, preferably using analogies.  I figure that may make things more fun for me and easier for the (non) readers to understand what is going on.
